On the edge of the Compiègne Forest, perched up in the trees are around ten cabins of different shapes and sizes. To get to some of them, you have to climb a latter, others require you to cross a rope bridge! Christophe and Agathe began this adventure a few years ago, building on their experience in the local tree-climbing theme park. Guests are spoilt for choice among the prettily furnished cabins with double beds and/or bunk-beds, dining areas and panoramic terraces. The sanitary facilities are rather more rudimentary in the spirit of cabin life, with washbasins with 5-litre water tanks and earth-closet toilets. Showers are available in the reception building a few hundred metres away, which also makes a good refuge in a storm or in high winds. The cabins have dreamy names: "Le Clé des Champs", "Hissé Haut", "La Cachette" and "Toi et Moi" and are ideal for couples, groups of friends or families. Breakfast is hoisted up to your cabin in a basket each morning. In the evenings, should you wish to dine in intimate surroundings, perched in your tree amidst the rustling leaves, you can order a country-style, vegetarian or gourmet hamper. It's like a childhood dream, with excellent environmental credentials which will delight those seeking strong sensations. Not to be missed!
