Our Findings

A report of our visit. What do we feel about this house. what makes it charming for us ?

Danielle Neijs
Inspected by Danielle Neijs 10/09/2015
The exterior of this house, which was part of an eighteenth-century group of buildings including a dovecote, a bread oven and other outbuildings, certainly does not hint at what you will find inside! For your host is an artist, a real one who can work in any medium. Paintings, sculptures, lamps, tables, mirrors, cupboards…all are recovered, changed and transformed. They are in every room of the house, particularly in the former barn which is now used as a lounge, dining room and gallery. Breakfast is served there at a beautiful long stone table, on pretty ceramic plates. Pascal also runs workshops there and the space can also host receptions, dinners and other creative activities. On the ground floor, the ‘’Patine et Lin’’ bedroom overlooks the garden, and has a small lounge area with a single sofabed. Upstairs, the ‘’Piment & Cerise’’, ‘’Danse avec les vues’’ and ‘’Souvenirs de belles choses’’ bedrooms overlook the “Entrelacs”, a beautiful space with a lounge area and kitchenette. All the rooms are coloured, lit and decorated with works of art by Pascal. An unusual address where, if you love art, you will make many discoveries. As it is located a few kilometres from Metz, you could include a visit to the Pompidou Centre there during your stay.
