Located in the midst of beautiful green countryside a stone’s throw from Bayeux, “Le Grand Caugy” welcomes guests and their horses. It is a working stud farm and is made up of several buildings laid out around a large courtyard garden. The main building contains two guest bedrooms on the first floor, which are simple but comfortable. Then come the stables with the horses, then the outbuilding, which contains four modern guest rooms, one of which, on the ground floor, is accessible by reduced-mobility guests. Next to the outbuilding is a huge hall with a lounge area where breakfast is served. In another wing is a large reception room that can be used for weddings, seminars or meetings. It opens onto a flower-filled garden and the meadows where the horses graze. No evening meals are availble, but Bayeux is only a few kilometres away, or there is a fitted kitchen with a fridge and microwave for guests to prepare their own meals. There are many waymarked bridleways along the seashore, in the woods or in the countryside. One of the most beautiful golf courses in France is nearby, as well as beaches for fans of sailing, surfing or land-sailing. More curious guests can explore the charming town of Bayeux and its tapestry, the D-Day landing beaches and the Caen memorial, all of which are nearby.
