In The Land Of The Impressionists

Once across the bridge over the river, you find yourself in the depths of the countryside. Surrounded by stone walls, the “Ferme des Isles” is hidden away from prying eyes and has a lower courtyard filled with flowers that run on into the meadows. A beautiful B&B that blends nature and heritage

Once across the bridge over the river, you find yourself in the depths of the countryside. Surrounded by stone walls, the “Ferme des Isles” is hidden away from prying eyes and has a lower courtyard filled with flowers that run on into the meadows. In the distance, sheep, goats, donkeys, hens and ducks wander around freely.  On one side of the courtyard is a building housing two guest rooms upstairs, overlooking the river or the garden. Opposite is the huge, beautiful barn which has been superbly restored and now houses the guest lounge, dining room, bar and games area with a snooker table on the mezzanine. It’s an ideal venue in which families or groups of friends can gather. Upstairs, each bedroom has its own style. The “Prairie” room is very fresh and decorated in shades of green. The “Forêt” room’s walls are lined with wood panels and its bathroom lords it over the sleeping area. Its furniture is all home made. The “Soleil” suite is also very attractive, with its terracotta-tiled bathroom, its two-person shower, its round washbasin and its dressing-table area. On the next floor up is a large bedroom with a canopied bed and a small lounge with a sofa-bed. Guests can use both the lounge in the barn and that in the other building. Depending on the weather, breakfast and dinner are served in the barn or the other building. Your host is very creative and can turn his hand to create many different dishes, depending on his inspiration. A beautiful B&B that blends nature and heritage, located in the land of the Impressionists, 50km from Paris.

The Villa de Mazamet does not go unnoticed! This beautiful 1930s house is surrounded by a garden with touches of the Italian Renaissance: harmonious proportions, symmetry and a loggia. It looks out onto the Black Mountain, on the other side of which is Languedoc-Rousillon, Carcassonne and the Mediterranean Sea.
