Our Findings

A report of our visit. What do we feel about this house. what makes it charming for us ?

The volcanic lava red stones that appear on the facade of this old farmhouse have given their name to the B&B. Located on the pilgrims’ way to Santiago di Compostella, it looks out onto the Cevennes to the South. All that remains of the old farmhouse inside is the larder near the entrance and the fireplace in the lounge: the rest of the building has been redecorated in resolutely contemporary style. The wellbeing centre with its shower and sauna is a lovely place for footsore pilgrims to relax. The spacious lounge-cum-dining room which opens onto the kitchen is filled with light. The modern staircase leading up to the guest bedrooms has a stair-lift for reduced-mobility guests. The bedrooms are comfortable and have been decorated and furnished with care, with pretty bedlinen setting the tone for each. They are named “Teatime”, “Pondichéry” and “Vellove”. The reasonably priced evening meals prepared by Sylvie are delicious and include fresh local produce, taking into account any dislikes or allergies you may have. A delightful B&B for an overnight stay or a more relaxing stay to recharge your batteries. The warm welcome, wellbeing centre, good food and comfortable beds will comfort those on their way to Santiago di Compostella. Oh, I forgot to mention that you can bring your donkey or mule with you!
