The Sévigny presbytery is part of a large group of white-stone buildings which includes a fortified church, a chateau and a walled park. You go through the entrance gateway into a welcoming courtyard where a series of “outdoor rooms” have been set out for relaxation in the warmer months. Part of the building has been converted into a B&B with a beautiful, huge dining room-cum- fitted kitchen, which opens onto a very cosy lounge. Two staircases run up from the lounge, each leading to two guest bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own style: romantic, country or more exotic. All four have their own private, modern and tastefully-furnished bathrooms. What is more, Laurence is an excellent cook and will be pleased to concoct delicious meals for you on request using the best fresh local produce, washed down with wines chosen by her husband who knows quite a bit about wine and champagne! For, of course, the B&B is not far from Rheims and its famous wine cellars. Heritage lovers will also appreciate the fact that the B&B is located on the La Thiérache fortified churches circuit, not far from the mediaeval city of Laon and the Baroque church at Asfeld, where a viola da gamba festival is held each year.
