Ideal place to stay for nature-lovers and walkers

Perfectly situated on the edge of the Hautes Fagnes-Eifel National Park, this is an ideal place to stay for nature-lovers and walkers. The building is a former farmhouse built of solid stone, in traditional local style. It is in the hamlet of Herbiester, near the village of Jalhay, a stone’s throw from the high plateau. Fabienne and Philippe have converted the former barn into a B&B with, on the ground floor, a large lounge for guests, a dining room, a kitchen, a bar, a library and table football. In the next-door building, their daughter Perrine has created a well-being centre offering massages, beauty treatments, a jacuzzi and a sunbed, which are available to guests. After a walk around the Fagnes, relaxing here must be heavenly! Upstairs are four beautiful guest bedrooms decorated in the colours of the surrounding countryside and wild flowers - Pansey, Poppy, Daisy and Hydrangea. They are spacious and comfortable and the “Daisy” room also has a small lounge and a terrace overlooking the garden. Generous country-style breakfasts are served, warmed by an open fire in the colder months. The breakfasts include local cheese and cooked meats, home-laid eggs,home-made  jams, syrup and chocolate, fresh fruit juice, bread and raisin bread which will set you up for the day ahead. An unpretentious place where you are assured of a warm welcome and offering excellent value for money!
