Clinging onto a rocky outcrop overlooking the River Eischel and the Seven Castles Valley

Clinging onto a rocky outcrop overlooking the River Eischel and the Seven Castles Valley, this ancient fortress has an exceptional location! To get to it, you have to drive up the high road, go through the gates of the 500-hectare park and then drive through fields and woods for about 2km. This approach gradually brings you into the atmosphere of the place. Once you arrive in front of the large wooden front door, you say your name and the door swings open to reveal the twelfth-century castle in the background, behind the outbuildings and the former barn on the side. Inhabited by the same family for three centuries, the castle underwent a 40-year restoration, led by the present owner's father, who opened the small up-market hotel. Upstairs are six tastefully decorated guest bedrooms, each in a different style, named Glamour, Colonial, Antique, Equestrian and Hunt, plus a suite - you will be spoiled for choice! They have lovely bed linen and delightful bathrooms and cosy furniture. On the ground floor is a huge lounge with different areas around the open fireplace and bar to which guests have access as well as the breakfast room. In the warmer months there is also a summer lounge and a terrace with sun-loungers brought back from Indonesia where you can relax while enjoying views of the surrounding countryside. The sauna, outdoor jacuzzi and massages are available on request. Once you have got there, you won't want to leave, but rather make the most of this enchanting place.
