In the most Beautiful Villages in Wallonia

Falaën is one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Wallonia" and is located in the pretty Molignée valley near Namur. The village is overlooked by a fortified farmhouse which is now a listed building, as is the former Sisters of Champion School, recently purchased by Mr & Mrs Clément and given a new lease of life and a head-to-toe restoration.

The house gives off an atmosphere of warmth and comfort, with its waxy-surfaced walls and its pretty furniture and ornaments, and the dogs and cats that wander from room to room. Upstairs, the two beautiful guest bedrooms are called "Marie Stuart" and "Geneviève de Brabant". They are spacious and comfortable with bright red walls and en-suite bathrooms.

Downstairs in the charming dining room, plenty of delicious food is served. Each day, Mrs Clément serves freshly-baked home-made bread, raisin-bread and yoghourt. On Friday evenings, she also prepares delicious local seasonal specialities for dinner. Guest can also eat on the terrace with views of the chateau or in the pretty garden on the other side of the house that was designed and planted by your hosts.

There is no shortage of things to do in the surrounding area, and it's hard to choose between hiking, festivals, museums, abbeys, chateaux and gardens.

It is a pretty building built of stone and timber, consisting of a main building and outbuildings laid out around a pretty courtyard garden. Opposite the main building is a pretty half-timbered house which is very cosy and can sleep a family in its three bedrooms.
