Domaine Lespoune

Castetnau Camblong, France

This beautiful B&B is located between the sea and the mountains not far from Pau in the Atlantic Pyrenees, in a sleepy hamlet surrounded by woods and meadows. Originally built in th eighteenth century, the house was renovated and extended in the nineteenth century by its new owner who had made his fortune in Argentina. He was responsible for the pretty verandah on the south side of the house that gives it an exotic air. In 2006, Yves and Nicole Everaert fell in love with the house, which by then had been abandoned, bought it and converted it into a beautiful B&B while taking care to respect the existing layout. The guest bedrooms are very spacious and each has its own style. They all have beautiful bathrooms, and a terrace or balcony. The family suite on the second floor in the attic has two bedrooms, a small lounge and a bathroom, making it ideal for a small family. If you’d like to relax, there is a relaxation room with fitness area, and sauna and massages are available on request. There are also delightful corners in the garden to relax in, as well as a jacuzzi with superb views of the surrounding hills. And to top it all, Nicole loves cooking and will delight you with her regional specialities, accompanied by Jurançon wines chosen by Yves.

Le Lavoir du Lauzon

Montségur sur Lauzon , France

The green, mountainous countryside of the Drôme in Provence is certainly charming, with its hilltop villages, its traditional fermhouses buried in vegetation and its ever-present old wash-houses and fountains. The old wash-house in Lauzon gave its name to this very pretty B&B that has been recently renovated with great good taste and sophistication. The owners have thought of everything their guests’ comfort and wellbeing would require. There are many places to relax: in the garden, by the infinity pool or in the wellbeing centre with its Turkish bath, jacuzzi, massages and beauty treatments. The five guest rooms and suites each have their own style – Provençal, Baroque, Colonial, etc - and their names are all Provençal words linked to wash-houses: ''La Bugad'',''La Gadouié'', ''Le Lavo Bugado'',''Le Bacè'' and ''Le Tinè''. The owners, who are both interior designers, have chosen pale hues of grey, blue and beige for the walls and pretty fabrics for the curtains, cushions and bedspreads, not to mention the furniture and ornaments picked up here and there. In the evenings, after aperitifs, your hostess offers her set-menu dinners, created in her pretty, old-fashioned kitchen with produce from her own kitchen garden or the local market. A very beautiful address where everything will combine to offer you a top-quality experience.

Le Bien-Aller des Perêts

Saint-Hubert , Belgium

The town of Saint-Hubert is associated with the Ardennes forest, wild animals, hunting hounds and horns. "Le Bien-Aller" is the name of one of the hunts, for which your host plays the hunting horn. Guests are often welcomed by recordings of hunting horns played by Mr & Mrs Van den Abbeel! Although located in the heart of the Ardennes, they have given each guest room a different theme. The "Sahara" room's warm hues evoke dreams of distant horizons, aided by its pretty bathroom with its Moroccan decor (mosaics and tadelakt limewash). The "Matéba" room's jungle hues recall the African history of your host's family. The wall-paintings and limewashes were applied by Mr Van den Abbeel, who also made all the furniture and is a carpenter and furniture maker in his spare time. Mrs Van den Abbeel is also good with her hands and offers massages and other bodycare treatments in a delightful treatment room on the ground floor. Breakfasts and evening meals are served in the guests' dining room with verandah. A friendly, well-positioned address particularly suited to nature and forest lovers and guests looking to relax.
